Online Therapy Ontario
Online counselling can be a great choice if you are looking for a new therapist. You still get the mental health counselling you need with processing your life experiences, but you have your virtual counselling sessions over the Internet using confidential video conferencing software, which allows you to experience therapy from the comfort of your home.

Is online therapy effective?
Yes, online therapy has been found to be effective in treating mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.
According to several studies, online therapy can be effective at treating various mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder.
Online therapy can produce similar outcomes and satisfaction levels as in-person therapy
However, online therapy may not be suitable for everyone or for every situation. Some factors that may influence the effectiveness of online therapy include the type and severity of the problem, the quality of the therapist-client relationship, the client's motivation and expectations, and the therapist's training and experience.
Which type of online therapy is best?
The type of online therapy that is best for a person depends on the individual’s specific needs and goals. The number one factor that determines the effectiveness of therapy is the relationship between a person and their therapist. It's up to you to find the best match for your needs.
Is online therapy covered by insurance?
In most cases, online therapy is covered by health insurance in the same way as in-person sessions. However, it's important to check with your insurance provider, as coverage may vary depending on the plan. Make sure to confirm that your insurance covers the services of registered psychotherapists.
Can online therapists diagnose you?
In Ontario, a registered psychotherapist is not allowed to formally diagnose a person. If you are seeking a diagnoses and/or someone to prescribe medication, you will need to contact your family doctor or psychiatrist.
