WHAT ABOUT MY INSURANCE?
Psychotherapy is not currently covered by OHIP. However many private extended health benefit plans do cover it. Please check your benefits before booking to confirm your coverage.
WHO DO YOU WORK WITH AND WHAT CONDITIONS CAN YOU HELP WITH?
I work with people coming in with various needs. My practice is LGBTQI2-S, poly and kink friendly, and I do my work to be an ally to the BIPOC community. I have experience in treating conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD and bipolar disorder. I have worked with clients around suicide and suicidal ideation and in dealing with substance use and abuse. I take a harm reduction approach in order to empower you to change the behaviours, thoughts and actions that you want to, so you can live your best life.
WHERE IS YOUR PRACTICE LOCATED?
I have an online practice at the moment due to Covid-19. So I can accept clients from anywhere in Ontario! NEW: As I'm also outside the city during quarantine, I can offer outdoor sessions in Guelph or surrounding areas. Please enquire!!
When it is safe to return to in-person counselling I am located inside Transense Healing Arts Holistic Centre at 344 Bloor St. West, Suite #610. (By car, there is a parking lot behind the building and a meter parking lot across the street on Spadina. Transense is on the 6th floor of the building with elevator and wide corridors giving full wheelchair and disability access.)
I will also maintain an online practice for those that find this more convenient and accessible.

WHAT TECHNIQUES DO YOU USE?
I make an effort to stay on top of the latest evidenced based theories. I have a foundation in both psychodynamic and transpersonal approaches. I also base a lot of my work on the relational and humanistic components of therapy and include somatic interventions in order to get the body and mind reconnected. While I am trained in some CBT/DBT skills, this is not a primary focus for my practice. I use these skills as needed to support the deeper work we'll be doing.
For my couples I have training in Relational LIfe Therapy (RLT Level 1), and pull from both Gottman and EFT as well. More about different approaches here.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY FIRST SESSION?
Prior to starting therapy I will send you paperwork that you can return ahead of time or bring with you to your first session. This includes a consent form and comprehensive medical and personal history forms. We will go over these together, in person, to ensure you understand and feel comfortable.
