&
MY WORK

Karen E Jeffrey (she/her), RP, BSc Pharm, MA Psych
Registered Psychotherapist

I am a registered psychotherapist, athlete, HSP (highly sensitive person), biohacker, intersectional feminist, adventurer, and all around humanist. Prior to getting my masters in counselling psychology, I worked as a pharmacist in clinical settings, biotech and sales. I also trained as a massage therapist.  I've managed teams and projects but my passion lies in working with people one on one or in small group settings.

I have experience in working with trauma, PTSD and addiction, relationship and intimacy issues, as well as depression, and anxiety. I support people with workplace stress and burnout and those looking to make big career changes. My practice also includes support and advocacy around the challenges of being neurodiverse in a world made for neurotypicals (i.e. ADHD, ASD, HSP/SPS, SPD). I am poly and kink friendly, and consider myself an ally to the
LGBTQI2-S and BIPOC communities.

I use a holistic approach to psychotherapy.
I am formally trained as a relational and psychodynamic therapist.  This framework aims to help people gain insight into the unconscious processes that drive their behaviours and contribute to ongoing issues or patterns.

Through this integrated approach, we will not only address what is present in the moment, but what is stored in your body by way of trauma or past hurts that are affecting your day to day life.
We will explore past patterns of relating, and use a
mindfulness-centered and somatic approach for
getting you unstuck, and healthier in each session.

For those that are new to therapy I provide psychoeducation around the brain, nervous system and attachment styles.     I will help you to develop your own mindfulness practice and provide other resources for you to start feeling better quickly.

I truly believe that an honest and trusting relationship with a therapist can be the start of your path towards healing and growth. Sometimes we just need a little push!

As required by the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO) I am regularly continuing and
pursuing further education.
I have completed specialized training in working with First Responders and Police Officers &
Relational Life Therapy (RLT Level 1) for working with couples.   I am currently working towards a certificate in
End of Life Care from the Institute of Traditional Medicine (ITM) in Toronto.

I also stay on top of the latest science and research surrounding psychedelic therapy and how they will assist in the treatment of trauma, PTSD and other disorders in the near future.
If you are interested in learning more about these medicines please reach out.
